Tradition and territory
Our wines are born in a land of ancient winemaking tradition. In the 16th century the urban and extra-urban territory was dotted with vineyards, and the Etruscans had probably already discovered that these hills were particularly favorable for vines. We grow both native vines such as Ciliegiolo, Grechetto and Sangiovese and international vines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
Ancient roots
An history of excellence
Terre d’Aquesia is located a few steps from Via Cassia (SS 2), an important road of Roman origin that still connects Florence with Rome, passing through Siena and Viterbo.
Our vineyards extend for 10 hectares at approximately 300 meters above sea level, on south-facing slopes of hills overlooking the Paglia river valley. The soil is characterized by its clay-loam texture, the good percentage of active limestone, and the good water retention capacity.
In December 2021 Terre d’Aquesia obtained the important “Natura in Campo” brand, granted by the Regional Parks Agency (ARP) of Lazio.
“Nature in the field” aims to enhance the sustainable and traditional agri-food production of protected natural areas and aims to promote forms of collaboration and partnership between managing bodies. In particular, with the “Natura in Campo” brand we want to encourage and qualify agri-food production with methods compatible with the characteristics of the territories of the Protected Natural Areas as well as the diffusion and promotion of the organic certification system and environmental sustainability.

Character and connection with the terroir
Quality, first of all
Tipicality
The wine culture is well rooted in the traditions and social customs of this corner of Lazio, so rich in history and natural beauties. The wines of Terre d’Aquesia have a typical character and are tightly bounded to the terroir.
Safety
In the vineyard, we adopt low-impact agricultural practices. In the winery, we follow closely the evolution of our wines to make sure that quality is attained and safety preserved.

Our vineyards extend over 10 hectares at an altitude of about 300 metres. They lie on slopes looking south, towards the valley of the River Paglia. The soil has a clay loam texture, with a good amount of calcium carbonate and good water retention.
